Worm Classifications | Sampling Methods | Habitats | Human Impacts | Forest Floor Litter

Forest floor litter is the layer of decaying materials on a forest floor.  It is made up of things like leaves, branches, tree bark, pine needles, pine cones and other plant materials, as well as other decomposers, fungi, algae, bacteria and other living things. To measure the forest floor litter layer, simply take a number of height measurements (usually in mm) from your sample area and average them.
